Hello
My name is Abigail Bates-Thompson, and I am a wildlife photographer with a passion for capturing animals in their natural environment. My work is focused on telling real, honest stories through photography, showing the beauty of wildlife while also raising awareness of the challenges many species face.
I am visually impaired, and this has shaped the way I approach photography. I rely on patience, instinct, and a strong connection to the world around me. For me, photography is not just about what you can see, it’s about what you can feel and understand in the moment.
Alongside my photography, I work with charities that are dedicated to protecting wildlife and preventing harm to animals. This is something I care deeply about, and I use my work to support conservation efforts and inspire others to care about the natural world.
My Story
My journey into wildlife photography began with a love for nature and animals. Spending time outdoors allowed me to connect with wildlife in a meaningful way, and I wanted to capture those moments so others could experience them too.
Being visually impaired has brought challenges, but it has also given me a unique perspective. It has taught me to slow down, to be patient, and to truly appreciate the small details that others might overlook. Over time, photography became more than just a passion, it became a way for me to express myself and share how I see the world.
As my journey has grown, so has my commitment to making a difference. Working with charities has allowed me to support important causes and use my photography as a voice for wildlife conservation.
Today, my goal is simple: to capture meaningful moments, tell important stories, and help protect the wildlife that inspires me every day.
